 ACTIVITIES: 

  • Created a masterlist of hypertensive individuals identified during the BP taking conducted per household

  • Conducted a weekly BP monitoring to keep track of blood pressure status of hypertensive individuals.

  • Conducted a mass BP taking during the general assembly on November 24, 2016.

"BP ating alamin, Hyprtension ating kontrolin" Outreach Program

January 20-21, 2018

the outreach program was conducted as part of the activities to help diagnose patients who is suspected of having hypertension. it aims to identify and properly diagnose hypertensive patients for them to be referred to RHU to have access to free medications.

Established Referral Scheme

January 24-30, 2018

After having the patient checked and diagnosed by a physician. The referral forms were given to the RHU. A referral scheme was established for easy access to medication. The MHO signed a memorandum of Understanding together withe the Medical students of ADZU for the dispensing of anti-hypertensive medications and anti-diabetic medications

The line graph shows a decreasing percentage of uncontrolled hypertension among the 114 identified individuals in the Barangay. As of September 2018, approximately there is a decrease case of uncontrolled hypertension from 80% to 70%.

ZumValentine's Day
February 14, 2019, as the world celebrates the feast of St. Valentine, the group decided to offer a sweet treat to the barangay by introducing a friendly Zumba Competition among the Zumba goers of the community. As part of the health promotion among hypertensive and the general populace of the barangay on health lifestyle, the dance contest was introduced. This aims to promote healthy lifestyle, promote camaraderie and recreation to the community. it was participated by 6 teams composed of 4- 5 members each age10-50 years old.

BP Station and Distribution of BP Kits
There were 9 identified BP Rangers last November 2018. They were trained last November to December and was included in every assembly in the barangay. The BP Rangers have agreed to have their home as BP Stations for those who are in need of BP Check or for those who wanted to have their BPs checked regularly. BP kits, Logbooks and BP Station signage were distributed last January 20, 2019

"Nakainom ka na ba?"
A Wellness Poster
The group comes up with the idea of pinning up BP REMINDER mini posters in the respective homes of the identified hypertensive patients in Barangay Bacuyong with the attempt of raising awareness about the consequences of missing or not taking their antihypertensive medications at all. This activity also aims to increase the compliance of taking antihypertensive medications addressing Morisky scale and Pill count measurements.
