"Oplan: Tanan Makialam para naay tubig ma-imnan"

January 23, 2018

“Oplan: Tanan Makialam para naay tubig ma-imnan” is an information dissemination and education of the community people regarding water sanitation and effects of unsafe drinking water sources. The campaign on advocating clean water for safe drinking was held in Bacuyong Elementary School having grades 5 and 6 as participants in the said activity. Health issues regarding water-borne infections were shared among the participants. Importance of purification methods were highlighted during the said activity. Pre and post test were also given to evaluate the knowledge of the kids with interactive games given after the said event.

January 18-23, 2018

A water analysis was done for the Barangay. there were four identified water sources that were tested and evaluated. The samples were sent to ZaNorte Medical Center for water analysis. A "failed" mark was given to all 4 water samples tested.

The bar graph shows that Boiling is the common water purification method used by the community members with 18% as of 2018.

SODIS iz it!
Solar Water Disinfection is one of the water purification methods being taught to the community. The SODIS iz it program was taught to the grade 5 and 6 students of theBacuyong Elementary School last February 20, 2019.

Lecture on Chlorination and Flocculation
with Distribution of Hyposol
 
February 8, 2019, the group invited a speaker fromProvincial Health Office of Zamboanga del Norte in Dipolog City. Sir Randy led the lecture on chlorination and flocculation. The group also distributed hyposol among the attendees of the lecture.

Agua Cera: Distribution of Ceramic Water Filter
 
January 20, 2019, the group have received the 200 pieces ceramic water filter from the Department of Science and Technology. It is one of the proposed water purification methods in the community aside from boiling, hyposol, SODIS, and Chlorination. Last January 27, 2019, 158 ceramic water filter was distributed among the member in community.

Last February 5, 2019, the group posted the results of water analysis conducted among the 4 major water sources in the barangay. This is to inform the barangay and the community people about the potability of the water source. To date, households near the major sources are not drinking from it.
