Lecture on "Wastong Nutrisyon"

Before the lecture on "wastong nutrisyon", a pretest was given for us to set benchmark on where to concentrate our lecture. the lecture aims to inform mothers the different types of malnutrition. It also aims to supplement knowledge on proper nutrition and proper food handling. it was given to the mothers of daycare children. a post examination was given to evaluate effectiveness of health teachings rendered
12-day feeding program

The 12 days feeding program was conceptualized by the group to be the starting point of the implementation of the feeding programs that are yet to come. The aim of the feeding program is to jumpstart the plan on malnutrition hub that was adopted from the research of Dr. A. Recinto, a former graduate of the school.

The meal is composed of 12 days feeding of milk and egg, with combination of freshly and well cooked meat, fish, vegetables especially malunggay and monggo and steamed rice. Every weekdays feeding of milk and egg plus one viand of meat and vegetable combination with rice. During weekends, the identified malnourished kids were asked to bring home two eggs and two milk for their Saturdays and Sundays lunch.
Pre and Post Feeding Operation Timbang

Before the feeding program there was on operation timbang that was done among the preschoolers. This is to set baseline data before the implementation. There were 10 identified malnourished kids (underweight and wasted). These were the kids that were targeted for the 12 days feeding of milk and egg.

after the implementation 10 out of 10 have gained additional weight ranging from 0.3-1.0 kg in just two weeks. 6 out of 10, gained additional weight that put them in normal status. 4 out 10 remained malnourished (underweight and wasted)
The line graph shows a decreasing trend of the number of acute malnourished children in the barangay. As of October 2018, there is a decrease of 7 malnourished children from 2017.
"KaluSHOWgan"
A month long celebration of nutrition among the members of the community. LAst February 18-22, a week-long celebration of nutrition was condected at Bacuyong Elementary School. It was participated by kindergarten and grade 3-6. Video presentation on Importance of proper nutrition was given entitled Susan at Pepe and Gelay Ayaw sa Gulay. A Poster making contest participated by grades 3-6 and quiz bee that was participated by grades 506 were conducted.

"KaluSHOWgan: Nutri Cooking Show"
A month long celebration of nutrition among the members of the community. Last February 20, 2019, in coordination with Rubia Child Development Center of Barangay Bacuyong a seminar and lecture on proper food handling was conducted and lecture on importance of Iodized salt was given by the BNS Ms. Hermisa Montiel. A cooking contest was also conducted. The cooking contest was participated by 3 teams of primary caregivers with 4 members each. The group prepared an affordable, available and palatable vegetable mix recipes. Two recipes were given by the group organizer which was adopted from Dr. Sescon'c research which were Aquarian Cabbage and Tortang Talong Espesyal. The participating team also made their vegetable mix version.

"Meet Your Garden Season 2-4"
Meet Your Garden is a communal garden in collaboration with the 4Ps member. It is at its season 4 of its garden and harvest. the group has harvested string beans, okra, chinese kangkong and pechay. Some of the vegetables were used in feeding and some were sold in the market. Seeds were acquired from Department of Agriculture.
