Our Second Community Exposure: We are for greater adventures!

It is summer time, and that means we, we were going totravel again back to Bacuyong for more extraordinary experiences. A lot of things can happen in just one month of community exposure.

Upon arrival at where we are going to stay, the newly built barangay hall, we immediately became busy cleaning and preparing the two rooms. We got busier the following days for the preparation of our upcoming house-to-house survey. We individually had our own experiences during our survey, especially about the families that we got the chance to talk to, our long and tiring walks,

and the challenges that we faced like the times when we defended ourselves from the dogs that barked at us by bringing our Arnis sticks. After eleven days ofsurvey we got so busy again preparing for our meeting with the barangay officials regarding the health-related problems of the barangay that were identified from the surveyconducted. When the meeting was about to start, we experienced power shortage, but despite of that circumstance, we still proceeded with our meeting even if it was dark in the room. We also discussed about our upcoming barangayassembly.Due to loaded schedule of the barangay activities, our barangay assembly was moved fromApril 15 to April 18. Days after the meeting we were again busy for the preparation of the barangay assembly. two days before the barangay assembly we personally disseminated the information to the residents by going house to house and giving them small coupon per household as an invitation and as a food stub as well.

On the day of the Barangay Assembly, there were also circumstances. It was raining in the morning. We were worried that only few might come to the venue but thankfully, there were still many residents who attended the assembly. we divided the tasks for the assembly among ourselves such as on BP taking, on height and weight section, on the flow of the meeting, on food preparation, and on registration and documentation. Another circumstance was there was a power shortage again. We could not use the speaker so instead, we used the megaphones for the whole time of the barangay assembly. despite that, the people actively participated during the program especially during the presentation of the health-related problems of the barangay.

Those were some of the highlights of our second community exposure. There were still many memorable experiences during our stay like celebrating the birthdays of our groupmates Amin and Elaine, our bonding moments with the community people, the turn-over ceremony and blessing of the barangay hall, and many more. Community exposure might be tough and sometimes we experience difficulties, we are still thankful for all these experiences that help us grow as a person. We also got to realize more about ourselves, especially our strengths we were able to overcome all these challenges.
